Only when the Constitution says what they want...

I get tired of the xenophobia and the tired old arguments that immigrants take our jobs and depress wages. Research shows that immigrants actually drive wages up and the types of jobs immigrants take are either the jobs that no one wants, or the jobs that you are not qualified to do...But by all means, Republicans, keep up this demonizing of brown people...it's a great long term electoral strategy for you...BTW 66% of all school age children in 2010 are members of a minority group...

Chickenshit...

Senatorial nominee Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) has officially backed out of his commitment to appear on Meet The Press. Transparent. He apparently needs time to figure out how to maintain his intellectual honesty without throwing every progressive governmental program and development over the past 150 years under the bus...Face the music...

Rand Paul...Wrong Messenger for the Tea Party

The major problem Paul has (and he has numerous problems) is that he is trying to maintain an intellectual cohesiveness in libertarian thought...This simply is living in the ethereal...real people live in the temporal world where words and ideas like his have terrible consequences for real people. It ultimately won't play...even in Kentucky...

Another Massey Miner Dies...

Come on. These corporate guys simply don't get it. The same company that was responsible for the deaths of 29 miners on 5 April 2010 at the Upper Big Branch Mine, saw another one of its workers killed in an on-site accident. The company has accrued 82 safety citations in the last two and a half months. No matter what they say, they simply don't care about working people...

Osceola Plant Closing Bad News for Western Wisconsin

Well said Dave Obey, Well said...This type of activity on the part of an American company is most definitely unpatriotic...

Let hope the 515 workers and the city of Osceola don't fold as a result of this poor decision. Click on the link for the full story...

Not Trying Very Hard to Hide It...

From the mouth of Roy Blunt (R) running for the open Senate seat in Missouri:

"Supposedly it’s the turn of the 19th century, the end of the 19th century, beginning of the 20th century, there was a group of British occupiers in a very lush, very quiet, very peaceful, very uneventful part of India. And this group of British soldiers who were occupying that part of India decided they’d carve a golf course out of the jungle of India. And there was really not much else to do. So, for over a year, this was the biggest event going on getting this golf course created.
And they got the golf course done and almost from the day the first ball was hit on this golf course, something happened they didn’t anticipate. Monkeys would come running out of the jungle and they would grab the golf balls. And if it was in the fairway, they might throw it in the rough. If it was in the rough, they might throw — they might throw it back at you.
And I can go into great and long detail about how many things they did to try to eliminate the monkey problem, but they never got it done. So finally, for this golf course and this golf course only, they passed a rule, and the rule was you have to play the ball where the monkey throws it. And that is the rule in Washington all the time."

Hmmm.....I wonder about whom he is referring to??? Hopefully this bozo gets what he has coming to him...

Are you kidding me???

More and more extreme examples of expression (which, by the way, is not an absolute constitutional freedom)...There's free speech that benefits a civil society and then there's this...It does nothing for debate.

From DailyKos:

"... the group of Tea Baggers who hanged an effigy of Rep. Frank Kratovil (D-MD) from a noose in front of his district office a few weeks ago. Then there was the case yesterday where a few folks at a tea bag protest outside a townhall meeting in Hartford called on Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT) to commit suicide as a way to cure his recently diagnosed prostate cancer. And even though it lacked any clear appeal to the murder of public officials or even a good suicide joke, I'm still pretty fond of this case on Tuesday where the head of the local Tea Party group up in Rome, New York just started yelling 'liar' over and over at a clearly befuddled and caught off guard Steny Hoyer.

On Tuesday, Rep. Russ Carnahan (D-Mo.) held a press conference on the "cash for clunkers" program and was met by "dozens" of conservative protesters trying to drown him out. The protest was organized by the St. Louis Tea Party, whose Bill Hennessy told protesters the location, the time, and what to bring ("Sign ideas: Cash for Clunkers destroys old cars; ObamaCare destroys old people").

On the day of the protest Hennessy put up another post attacking the White House for setting up an email address to answer questions about "fishy" rumors about health care reform.

Barack Obama wants to turn everyone into a Nazi snitch.

The Nazis used snitches, including children, to turn in enemies of the state. Barack Obama has unleashed a program inspired by the National Socialists to identify and, presumably, punish citizens who speak out against socialized medicine. [...]
